Canberra

We visited Canberra for a night and stayed a a nice hotel called the Mantra room , equipped with Sauna. On arriving in the morning we set out to look at our parliament house and learnt more about the way our countries democracy works. And some stunning autumn reds that reminded me of sunsets.

Then we were recommended a picnic spot by the pc( police constable) on guard, the Coronilla, a interesting building overlooking the lake and the Captain cook fountain. The Coronilla is a musical instrument housing 43 Brass bells, they had a recital on during our picnic.

The next morning we visited the National museum, fascinating. We paid particular attention to 3 exhibitions which were 1) Eternity, a recording device to record a minute of your story for the future. 2) the Australian Dream, a map of Australia represented through symbolic elements and 3) Ngurrara which talked of home, a beautiful tapesrty.
